MGC-RST Mining Limitada incorporated in Mozambique is a partnership entity between Matekane Group of Companies from Lesotho and RST Mining and Logistics from India. It has undertaken coal mining operation for JSPL Mozambique Minerais Limitada at Chirodzi, Tete Province of Mozambique. Board and management team is made up of individuals with significant experience across the key areas of mining, operations and finance. The team enjoys strong support by a group of well experienced professional in the fields of Mining, technical, social and environmental.

MGC Group was founded by Mr Sam Matekane in 1980 with the specific aim of providing a fast, efficient plant hire service to civil engineering and earthmoving projects. Based in Ha-Foso, the Group now has a fleet of 280 large earthmoving units. MGC later diversified in to construction sector and this business has grown into a multimillion dollar construction company.

MGC ventured into mining in 2003 when it won the mining contract for Letseng Diamond Mine. From there, MGC won more contracts in Lesotho from other mining companies. Since 2004, MGC is the contractor of choice in Lesotho and has moved in excess of 120 million ton of Kimberlite & Basalt. MGC is also a shareholder in a prominent Diamond Mining Venture in Lesotho.
