RST Mining started in 1998 as a logistics business and grew into a multi-faceted business in the mining industry in India providing end to end solution for mining and movement of the raw material for steel and power plants. RST is well placed in Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand provinces of India and is delivering mining and logistics services to some of the top companies in steel and coal industry.

Purpose / Objective

The main purpose behind formation of this joint venture company was to form a mining company to capture emerging opportunities in mining sector in Africa. In its first such endeavour, MGC-RST MINING Limitada bid for Open Cast Coal Mining project for Jindal Mozambique Minerais Lda at Chirodzi, Tete Province, Mozambique.

MGC & RST’s unique expertise along with cost competitiveness were key factors for deciding the contract in our favour. It received the LoI on 2 nd Feb 2012 and commenced mining operation on 01st July 2012. These operations are planned to handle up to 20 million tons per year.

The company has a unique strength of integrating manpower and technology thereby enhancing the core strength of its clients by delivering minerals in the safest and most cost efficient processes respecting the environment and enhancing the lives of the local communities and its team members. It has been immensely successful in achieving this objective in its very first project in Mozambique and is looking to capture more opportunities in Coal and Iron Ore Open Cast Mining.
